Malefaction reaches the Official Selection at the ASFF
Malefaction, a short film produced by Paean Films in collaboration with Phoenix Rising Media has reached the Official Selection at the 2017 Aesthetica Short Film Festival.
Set over the course of one morning on a hot summer’s day, Malefaction tells the story of an aging hit man who prepares to fulfil one more job before finally retiring. Through a series of internal monologues we learn about his past as an operative during the Troubles in Northern Ireland and his plan to take out a journalist who he has agreed to silence. The five-minute film, written and directed by Adam Price stars Daniel Godward and Peter Gerald.
Founded in 2011, the Aesthetica Short Film Festival is held annually in the City of York and showcases the year’s finest short films produced by new and established talent in independent cinema. Films previously screened at the festival have gone onto achieve awards success at BAFTA and at the Academy Awards.
Adam Price commented on the announcement saying: ‘I am thrilled that Malefaction has reached the Official Selection at the ASFF. I would like to extend my thanks to the programmers and everybody who contributed to the film’s production both in front and behind the camera.’
The Aesthetica Short Film Festival runs from the 8th - 12th of November in the City of York.
